Beechwold Trail

Free, simple tools for planning time outdoors

Two trip planners: one for backpacking, and one for camping with your family. Each keeps a list of your gear, checks the weather for your dates, and gives you a packing list.

Both apps are in beta. Anyone can try the demos; to plan your own trips, ask for an invite from either app.

For backpacking

Pack Planner

Keep a list of your gear and trail food, then plan each trip: what to bring, what it weighs, what the weather will be, and what you'll eat.

  • Your base weight and total pack weight as you choose gear
  • The forecast for your dates, or typical weather for trips further out
  • Meals planned day by day, with calories and the water you'll need
  • A packing list to check off, print or copy
  • Add it to your phone's home screen and view your trips with no signal
For car and family camping

Camp Planner

Plan a weekend at the campground for the whole family: the campsite, the gear you share, and what goes in each person's bag.

  • Your campground's details: check-in time, reservation, and whether the site has water, power and showers
  • Clothes for each person, counted from the length of the trip
  • The forecast for your dates, with suggestions like a tarp when rain is coming
  • A warning when an essential, like the tent or the first aid kit, isn't on the list
  • Packing checklists to tick off, or print with a page for each person

One account for both

Sign in with Google, or with a code sent to your email. There's no password to remember, and the same account works in both apps. Your trips and gear are saved to your account, so they're there on your phone and your computer.

Want to look around first? Each app has a demo with sample trips. No account needed. During the beta, accounts are by invitation: ask for one from either app's start screen.

About
